This is not a dizzying result, but it is worth noting that the activity record of the first part is almost half of this number - it's 1,448 and was set two years ago. Making news right now, Everspace is currently working toward a full release in gaming next week but there will be no Linux support at launch.
At the hottest moment of the release day, Everspace 2 was played on Steam by 2,679 people at the same time. Of course, this state of affairs won't last long, but the developers can be pleased with the initial sales results. Thus, the game is currently selling better than such hits as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive - Operation Broken Fang, Rust, Cyberpunk 2077 or Red Dead Redemption 2. Right after the launch, Everspace 2 hit the first place of Steam's global bestseller list and remains on this position at the time of writing this message. It turned out to be quite successful and bodes well for the future of the project. Several hours have passed since the launch, so it's worth to have a look at how the game's debut went. Everspace 2 is an upcoming fast-paced open-world space shooter (singleplayer only) being developed by Rockfish Games, to be released on PC and console platforms.
